The Life Sciences Safari
Together with Mandai Orchid Garden, Innovative Learning Circle has developed an education centre catering to the life sciences. It is able to provide students with a wide range of opportunities to explore the variety of plant , animal and insect life in nature. They will also have the unique experience of working in an R & D environment, staffed by experts in the fields of horticulture and orchid hybridisation.
Given this natural setting, we are able to offer a range of courses which include:


Mandai Orchard Garden
 
 
 
 
 
Plant Tissue Culture
Students will be taught pratical and theoretical aspects involved in orchid seed germination and cloning.
The importance of plant tissue culture in the field of biotechnology will be explored. Classes are conducted at the laboratory in Mandai Orchid Garden and the students will be involved in a lot of hands on experiments to help in the understanding of the course materials.
 
 
 
 

Exploring the Basic Thread of Life
Students will learn about the charecteristics of different plants, animals and insects. What is DNA?
What are chromosones? What are cells made of? They will find answers to these and other questions.

 

The World of Insects
Students
will have fun learning about the basics of entomology, study about insect habitats and characteristics and learning how insects are set for the purpose of study and display.
These practical sessions will take place at Mandai Orchid Garden's laboratory and nursery. In addition, the students will be given appropriate course material and a piece of their very own "creation" to take home with them.

Our workshops are specially designed to spur the interest and ignite the imagination of any aspiring young scientist.
